The Work Doesn't Stop at the Office Door

Our name — mālama — means to care for and protect. That is not a brand exercise. It is a daily obligation. Here is how we put that belief into practice.

AI Literacy Workshops

We run free and reduced-cost AI literacy workshops for local organizations, schools, and community groups across Kauaʻi and Hawaiʻi. Not abstract computer science — practical sessions that connect real AI tools to real problems in people's work and lives. The islands deserve access to this knowledge as much as any mainland city.

One Percent Revenue Pledge

We commit one percent of annual revenue to environmental and community organizations working on Kauaʻi and across Hawaiʻi. This is not contingent on profitability or a good year — it is a structural commitment built into how our business operates. We publish our giving annually and identify the specific organizations our contributions support.

Hawaiian Cultural Stewardship

Sustainability on this island did not begin with modern consulting. Native Hawaiian communities practiced sophisticated, place-based resource management for centuries through the ahupuaʻa system. We actively support organizations dedicated to Hawaiian cultural preservation, language revitalization, and traditional land management practices. We learn from this knowledge as much as we contribute to it.

Open Source Contributions

Where possible, we publish the tools, libraries, and patterns we build as open source. The Cloudflare Workers ecosystem is still young in Hawaiʻi — we share what we learn so that other builders here can move faster and spend less time solving problems we've already solved.

Want to Get Involved?

Whether you want to host a workshop, explore a partnership, or just have a conversation about how technology can serve your community — we would welcome it.
